Introduction to EthicsPoint Professional Services


At EthicsPoint, we view Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) as a pathway to continuous improvement and transparency. Our Professional Services Organization (PSO) is comprised of professionals who are veterans in helping clients manage the process of ongoing development and support the key attributes necessary to establish and oversee a successful GRC program. All of this is done within our on-demand, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution model.

Our approach breaks down business objectives into manageable components and identifies the effect each has on an organization’s people, processes, and technology. Our team members are practiced in building a clear framework around these components to establish:

  • Alignment of priorities with GRC processes and initiatives 
  • Awareness of concerns, losses, events, and issues; bringing each forward in a manner that ensures data and process consistency
  • Management of defined operational processes emphasizing process tools and dynamic workflow to ensure resolution consistency
  • Insight and transparency through reports and comparative analysis of identified data points

Our integrated Issue and Event Management application is uniquely positioned to provide a common organizational framework supporting a more expansive view of risk and incident awareness and the subsequent investigative model. The result is an enterprise-wide view of risk and the ability to effectively integrate and manage GRC initiatives within one cohesive program.

Moving Beyond Project Management and Integration

EthicsPoint’s approach to professional services moves us beyond supporting the project management and technical integration challenges organizations face and focuses on establishing a deeper understanding of the tangible business opportunities of our clients. Our consulting engagements begin with an assessment of the business requirements and defined business risks of our clients through an evaluation of current and desired state environments and associated analytics. These requirements will drive the engagement process and include project definition, requirements specifications and integration, change management, configuration, training, and deployment. Organizations address a wide range of risks and requirements through internal controls and compliance programs with a goal of increasing awareness to concerns, losses, events, and issues that arise throughout the organization.

Our Professional Services Consultants work with clients to develop best practices through the use of our Issue and Event Manager application to capture, process, resolve, and analyze these issues. The two primary messages supported by our Professional Services Organization (PSO) are: (1) the business impact of increased issue awareness and (2) the subsequent review and investigative model. By focusing on issue awareness, we challenge clients to consider the many avenues their employees and stakeholders use to share vital information about the risks of their business. This extended look creates a complex set of considerations supporting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), including:

  • Alignment and prioritization
  • Filtering and materiality
  • Business process and workflow
  • Escalations
  • Program analytics and benchmarks

The Three Business Units of Our PSO

EthicsPoint’s PSO is comprised of three business units: Implementation, Technology, and Consulting.

Our Implementation Team

Our Implementation team consists of client-facing Account Specialists who ensure proper deployment of EthicsPoint’s Issue and Event Management solution, from simple hotlines (Standard) to more complex enterprise applications (Professional and Enterprise).

Implementation services provide support and general guidance in the following areas:
  • Coordinate and support implementation of the application based on client defined requirements
  • Provide basic-level system administrator training
  • Deliver project focused issue management and status communication during implementation
  • Provide post implementation and support as required

Our Technology Team

Our Technology team works closely with Implementation “behind the scenes,” making it possible to efficiently and successfully deploy our web-based and Contact Center (phone-based) intake models. Team members offer insight and best practice intelligence to create a seamless, intuitive user experience. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining our clients’ overall intake process, managing Quality Assurance (QA), and the day-to -day maintenance of web portals.

Our Consulting Team

Our Consulting team is focused on establishing a deeper understanding of our clients’ business challenges and associated risks. They provide a full range of services that support current objectives and help sustain a long-range vision to meet evolving goals and initiatives. They are experienced in developing a manageable strategy that fully utilizes the EthicsPoint solution.

Our consulting services leverage industry-based guidelines and fundamentals, offering detailed guidance through our proven development framework and methodology.  EthicsPoint has worked with over 1,700 clients to support compliance challenges, requirements, and best practices introduced through: 
  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)
  • Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
  • European Data Protection and various EU data privacy regulations
  • Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)
  • Basel Accords (I and II)
Our consultants manage defined consulting engagements designed to Assess, Plan and Design, and Implement with over-arching disciplines focused on Project Management, Sponsorship, and Communication.

Consulting services provide thought leadership and lead client project teams through the following activities:

  • Develop stakeholder analysis
  • Assess "current state" and "desired state" GRC environment assessment
  • Design detailed, phased project definition (short- and long-term)
  • Manage implementation of the EthicsPoint application based on mutually defined requirements
  • Develop change management strategy and deployment plan
  • Design and develop custom training curriculum designed for system administrators and business users
